Supermoon Picture

What is a supermoon moon? A Supermoon is the phenomenon where the moon is a “Full Moon” and is at its closest point to earth during its yearly orbit, resulting in the appearance of a larger and brighter than normal moon (at least from our viewpoint). More specifically, a Supermoon is the coincidence of a Full Moon or a New Moon with the closest approach the Moon makes to the Earth on its elliptical orbit, resulting in the largest apparent size of the lunar disk as seen from Earth. This supermoon picture illustrates this spectacular event.
